DUST TO DUST Part Ways With Sanctuary Records!
December 24, 2001DUST TO DUST have parted ways with Sanctuary Records and plan to record and shop a new album within the next couple of months, according to a statement posted at the group's official web site. This may seem as a shock to most who have followed the band from their recent signing about a year ago with Sanctuary because of the hype surrounding the labels attempt at signing and breaking a new act, the statement continued. Sanctuary Records (CMC) is well known for buying catalogues of older established acts (MEGADETH, HALFORD, C.O.C., BLUE OYSTER CULT, etc.) and signed DTD as their first 'new act' with the promise of building, and nurturing the band from the ground up. Rob Traynor (lead vocalist/bassist and songwriter) states, 'This band is a spanking new band, we have just entered the game and we have a lot to offer. I'm a songwriter, that is what I do all the time, so there is no shortage of material here. We are currently gearing up to head back to the studio and record another bunch of killer tunes, this time, hopefully, we will find a label that will do the right thing with DUST TO DUST. I do want to thank Sanctuary though, because we are further in the game now than we were a year ago at this time. We have established some respect and recognition of the band in the music community, and we have made close to 10,000 new fans. We are proud of the album we released under Sanctuary and we are richer for the experience. James, Stu, Steve, and I all truly believe we have a special thing here, we believe wholehearted in the music we create and look forward to the future of this band. Look for new material from DUST TO DUST in 2002!
